Apartmány Český Ráj: Apartments in Bohemian Paradise

Would you like to experience accommodation in a real Bohemian paradise? This little paradise was selected as the best pension of the year 2018. I tried it by myself, and I must admit, it was an unforgettable experience.

In each of the apartments called Apartmány Český ráj, you are in the best hands of its owners, Ivona and Daniel. Both are real experts since they worked in tourism for a decade. They always seek the best quality services for themselves, and they know how to provide it for their guests. They discovered this little paradise during the bike trip. On the former sunflower field, they found an amazing panoramic view and the place for these apartments.

Biokolna

Originally, they built a pension with two apartments and wellness. Then, Biokolna followed with a slightly different concept. Biokolna is a separately standing attic apartment with a balcony and a gorgeous view of the countryside. Biokolna was built by local carpenters from local wood without any harmful chemical substances. All the textiles have a natural origin in cotton, linen, and sheep’s wool. Even mattresses are made of natural fibers. I also admired a master centerpiece – lamp made by local glass producers, exactly according to the taste of Ivona, the main designer of all apartments. Even electricity is ecological since it’s produced by the integrated heat pump.

Apartments

We had accommodation in the pension, which consists of two apartments (located just opposite Biokolna). When I entered the apartment on the ground floor, I smell the scent of fresh peonies and admired décor in decent light colors. The apartment is designed elegantly and practically. The kitchen is fully equipped both for cook-loving couples and families. However, our main plan for the holiday was hiking and relaxing. What I appreciate the most was a spacious garden terrace with a panoramic view and even a swing! This amazing terrace is accessible just from the bedroom and from the wellness.

After the hiking in Bohemian Paradise, I relaxed in the swing and enjoyed the view until my eyes closed down. However, I can’t miss wellness! I feel the rain in the air, and dark clouds were coming — the ideal time for the sauna that is located just next to the ground floor apartment. I admired the combination of a light wood with blue tiles and a soft bathrobe. In between the sauna cycles, I sat outside, read the book, and enjoyed the atmosphere of the upcoming storm.

Our morning was like in a real fairytale. We had breakfast for our bed! Carefully prepared breakfast consisted of eggs from local farmers, home-baked bread, freshly squeezed orange juice, and homemade strawberry jam and liver paté, fresh fruits and cheese. Breakfast can also be prepared according to your taste, and it will consist mostly of regional products. Your food would never be heated in the microwave. On the contrary, it will always have a fresh taste and flowers on your tray.

On the first floor is a second apartment, that is larger and suitable for families with kids. Guests in this attic apartment have their outdoor sitting area “under the forest” and may use wellness with a terrace as well.

How to get to Apartmány Český Ráj

All the apartments are located in a small village called Košov – Hrádka, located nearby the town Lomnice nad Popelkou. Bohemian Paradise is about a 15-30 min drive, depends on which part of Bohemian Paradise you want to explore. I would also recommend visiting the nearby city Jičín that has many places to offer as well. But I should better prepare a separate article on that.
