It is unbelievable that you can find this home feeling café just nearby the Charles Bridge. Hideout of crowds in this cozy place where you feel like in the Czech retro movie and have a hot chocolate with homemade cakes.
Secrets of Tricafe
I discovered Tricafe a few years ago when I have tickets to the nearby theatre Na Zábradlí that are both located at Anenské Square. Usually, places nearby Charles Bridge are rather touristic and lack the authenticity of the old Prague. This is not the case with Tricafe. Not only it’s a charming place with a spirit, but you will feel almost like at home.
What I like about Tricafe are their specialties. I had my first rooibos café just here, a few years ago. Recently, I really enjoyed hot chocolate with ginger (I bet you never taste it before) and even a beetroot cappuccino. My favorite delicatessens are avocado toasts with pomegranate seeds. The whole year long, you can have a wide variety of homemade lemonades and delicious cakes. So, every time you visit Tricafe, you have something to discover.
Who Is Behind Tricafe
Tricafé has a nice story behind the opening. Three family relatives, Honza, Hanka, and Olga, were enthusiastic about the café scene abroad and were missing similar quality in Prague. They were eager to open a café that would serve good quality coffee and provides an authentic atmosphere. So, they started with vintage furniture from their friends, bought a second-hand coffee machine and a few mugs, and started without any advertisements. Even without massive marketing, they have their loyal customers, and people are returning very often.
I am one of these customers. When I discovered it, I felt like preserving some secret that the others don’t know. More often I am returning, I can see that people already discovered this hidden beauty. Now, I feel like sharing a secret with you. However, since I am writing about my favorite places, you deserve to know this one as well. So, if you happen to be around Charles Bridge, does not matter if you are a tourist or local, think about this article and let’s see, if you find this charming place as well (Google always helps).
How to get to Tricafe:
As I already mentioned, you can find Tricafé nearby the Charles Bridge. If you walk from Karlova street and you are about to cross the street to the Charles Bridge on the traffic lights, stop for a while and turn left instead, walk by the narrow pavement until you see the river again. Then, take the first left to the small street Anenská. Soon, you will find these welcoming doors with a smiling coffee cup. If you are around, discover also the Colloredo-Mansfeld Palace that people don’t really know about.
