Stromovka: Central Park of Prague
Stromovka is completely your place for relaxation in every season of the year. Since it’s the biggest green space in the center of Prague, you might come several times and you always discover something new. I really love to have a walk and chat with my friends, sit in a restaurant Vozovna and enjoy the program of the summer cinema. It’s just an ideal place if you want to spend time outside. Believe me, you will appreciate its beauties throughout the year.
What to Do and See in Stromovka
Stromovka was originally established as a hunting space for the king in the 13th century. Since then, the park was transformed into an English landscape garden. The whole area is about three kilometers long with a number of small trails, large green meadows, several ponds, and picnic installations. Especially during the hot summer days, it’s just great to take your outdoor blanket, favorite book, some snacks, and find a spot in a green meadow with a shadow of the tree.
If you are not up to lying in the grass, stop by restaurant Vozovna. It’s a lovely place that used to be a tram-yard so you can still see the railways ending in the restaurant.

What I am really looking forward to is the renovation of Šlechtova restaurant. This is a real hidden gem of the whole park. Šlechtovka used to be an iconic place for summer visits until World War II. Since then it only fell into ruins. Fortunately, this amazing place is newly renovated, so you can finally visit it.
There is also a newly opened Bistro No.2 with good beer, coffee, and homemade delights.

Of course, Stomovka is a great place for your outdoor activities. Numerous trails are ideal for your jogging, paved paths are great for biking and inline skating, sports yard is great for football or volleyball matches and you can even see people practicing slacklining.
Culture in Stromovka
If you are up to some culture, summer is ideal for an outdoor cinema. Check the actual program of summer cinema Stromovka.
If you prefer some music, open-air concerts, and dancing classes, I would recommend Gauč ve Stromovce. Don’t be shy and try open classes of swing, salsa, or just check the actual program of Gauč ve Stromovce.

What I really like since my childhood is Planetarium with one of the largest projection domes in the world. You can have a look at the Planetarium program. I don’t think it’s only for kids. Why not enjoy these beautiful cosmic illusions even now?
How to get to Stromovka
The easiest access is through the tram stop Výstaviště Holešovice. You will see a beautiful art deco building, which is an exhibition area. You just follow the greenery on the left side and take whatever path you find interesting. If you follow the tram rails, it will take you directly to Vozovna restaurant. This place is definitely worthwhile to visit. Explore it by yourself and let me know, how do you like it.
Stromovka is a great location for going out in the nearby Letna district. I would recommend you retro cinema Bio Oko, café Dos Mundos, the largest exhibition of modern art in the National Gallery, and even nearby park Letná with amazing views of the Vltava river.
